I am almost through the "Shelter of Stones" by Jean Auel. It's the 5th book (I think - lol) in a fictional series about a prehistoric people. As soon as I'm done with that I'll probably start on "People of the Owl" by the Gears. Their books are historical fiction as well but always with some sort of murder mystery and suspense built into the story.

Right now I'm reading a romance suspence. It's not usually my cup of tea but I joined a bookclub to get a Sex and the City book. LOL I usually read thrillers by authors like Stuart Woods and James Patterson. I like Patricia Cornwell, Sue Grafton, the VI Warshawski novels... I like Maeve Binchy (Tara Rd is my favorite). I also like the series about Goldy the Caterer by Diane Mott Davidson. Oh yes and the Left Behind series is really good. I still need to read the last two in that series but they are always checked out of the library.

Well, right now I'm doing a reread. I'm about finished with the Hobbitt, J. R. Tolkien, and I have the 3 book trilogy ready and waiting. It's been about 15 years since I read them and since I just finished watching the 2 movies, I decided to read them again. I've also been on a Jude Deveraux kick the last month or so. I've read everything I've found so far by her. I really like her books. The last one I read was Sweet Liar. Her books are romance with a little suspenseful kick.

I just got done reading She's Come Undone; by Wally Lamb. It was a very very good book. It wasn't something that I'm usually into, it was recommended and I'm glad I read it. I also like Dean Koontz, James Paterson, Patricia Cornwell, Ann Rice, etc.

I just finished reading all of Michael Connely's books... he has one coming out in april or may. He writes Mystery/suspense... If I am not reading mystery I am reading True crime.

Shellie-(sp) East of eden as in steinbeck? I recently got that one for my dh. He reads any and all classics!!! Might I suggest Jeffery Eugenis?? (sp) He is actually a modern writer, but dh says he is ALMOAST as good as steinbeck, (for him that is rare to think anyone who is a new author has any talent) Also my dh likes Anton Checkov He ranks him among one of the best classic authors.

I always get teased for reading modern authors... :)

Ok, right now Im "trying" to read Witch Child. It's about a 14 y/o girl who lives with her grandmothe in the 1600's and her grandmother is hung as a witch, the girl then needs to escape to america. that's as far as I got so far! LOL

Audrey & Cora, You all need to give me some names of GOOD horror books, since I dont know to many I basically stick to Stephen King & Dean Koontz, althougth I have to say, I haven't read anything my DK in a LOOOOOOOOOONG time!

If either of you haven't read Dreamcatcher, I have it if anyone wants to read it!
