One good thing in this country it that prizes are tax free, although if you win money, then you have to pay tax on the interest it earns. Also if the Tax Office considers you're making a living out of winning prizes (like going on multiple quiz shows), then you have to pay tax.

That was one thing I liked about Britain, while a lot of the taxes were still higher than here in the states, you were never taxed on prizes, not even on multi million lottery wins.
