It was like old times back at the Peach Pit on Friday night, as the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 – minus Brenda and Dylan – reunited in (where else?) Beverly Hills for the DVD release of the show's 1990 debut season.
"We always worked hard to stay together as a cast," Jason Priestley, a.k.a. Brandon Walsh, told USA Today. Priestley was joined by a five-months-pregnant Tori Spelling, who played Donna, along with Jennie Garth (Kelly), Ian Ziering (Steve), Brian Austin Green (David) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea).
For Garth, 34, it was her first public appearance since giving birth Sept. 30 to daughter Fiona Eve, her third child with husband Peter Facinelli. "I wanted to support the show that gave me all I have this day," she said. Plus, she added, "I didn't want to be the one who didn't come."
That distinction fell to two main players: Shannon Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh, and Luke Perry, who played Dylan.
Spelling, 33, arrived about an hour after her costars, and talked about her pregnancy. "People say every day, 'Have you felt any kicks?' And I haven't yet, and then I get paranoid," she told USA Today. "I'm paranoid about everything, because this is my first time."
The stars, some of whom had seen each other at Priestley's 2005 wedding, almost didn't show up for the event – some cast members discussed skipping the launch because they won't benefit financially from DVD sales, which were not written into their original contracts.
But Ziering, 40, helped bring the group together. "I called up the guys, and we all got together for lunch to talk about this whole DVD party," he said. "The product of 9-0 is very powerful all over the world, and we wanted to make sure that everybody was recognized fairly."
The party also celebrated the first-season DVD release of 90210 spin-off Melrose Place.
