Politically active actor John Cusack is taking on Republican presidential candidate John McCain in a new commercial for MoveOn.org, a non-profit group which mobilizes voters.
In the 30-second spot, called "Betcha Can't Tell Them Apart," Cusack, 41, urges voters to take the Bush-McCain Challenge, and attempts to illustrate how Senator McCain and President George W. Bush share similar viewpoints on domestic and foreign policy – which he implies is to be frowned upon.
"MoveOn.org members, and millions of other Americans, including me, share a common belief that Americans just cannot take another four years of Bush policies," Cusack said in a statement. "I think the Bush-McCain Challenge gives people the opportunity to just check the record for themselves. Americans need to ask themselves if our economy can stand another four years of war, war profiteering, recession, job loss and inadequate health care."
In addition to being available online, the spot will debut on CNN and Bravo on Thursday.
